Interview par Adeline Wessang

If I thought about Léo Dorfner (in some attempt to define his work), I would come with two pictures: drawing and Gitanes cigarettes. Speaking of cigarettes, he keeps his packs and draws some of his favorite albums artwork on it. It ranges from Queens Of The Stone Age to Elvis Presley, including Serge Gainsbourg and David Bowie among many others.
He is working with digital photography, Polaroid, drawing and watercolor painting. He usually takes pictures first and works from them. Watercolor painting has an immediate effect: no remorse is allowed. He is also the man behind Branded magazine.
He is currently living and working in Paris. He is represented by Anouk Le Bourdiec gallery.
